Budapest Quartet
The Budapest Quartet was a string quartet founded in 1917 by players originally associated with the Budapest Opera.
The ensemble later became based in the United States and was one of the most celebrated chamber groups of the twentieth century.
It was particularly associated with Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Bartók and the central string-quartet repertory.
