Gerson Yessin (1924-2015) was an American pianist and teacher, active in concert, chamber and contemporary repertory. He became especially associated with new music and American musical life.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Stokowski’s twentieth-century music programme, in repertory by Bartók, Morton Gould and Schoenberg.

Yessin’s musicianship belongs naturally to this modernist context: alert, rhythmically precise and comfortable in repertory that was still sharp-edged to many listeners.

His page is justified by secure identity and repertory fit. Yessin gives the Stokowski modern-music shelf a clear keyboard glint.
