Leslie Woodgate

Leslie Woodgate (1900-1961) was an English conductor and chorus master, closely associated with the BBC. He played an important role in British choral and broadcast music.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Bax’s Mater Ora Filium and related English Music Society recordings.

Woodgate’s importance lies in the practical craft of choral preparation: shaping voices, diction and ensemble into a coherent musical body.Read More
