Paul Graener (1872-1944) was a German composer, conductor and teacher, active during the late Romantic and early twentieth-century periods. He worked in theatre and concert life and later held senior musical posts in Germany.

His output includes operas, orchestral works, chamber music, songs and choral pieces. In the Pristine catalogue he appears in historic broadcast repertory from the late 1930s.

Graener’s musical language is conservative, tonal and strongly rooted in the German Romantic tradition. His works often favour clarity of form, lyrical line and traditional orchestral craft.
