Willaert
Adrian Willaert (c.1490-1562) was a Franco-Flemish composer who became one of the central figures in Venetian Renaissance music. Born in the Low Countries, he served as maestro di cappella at St Mark’s Basilica in Venice.
His works include masses, motets, chansons, madrigals and instrumental pieces. He helped establish the Venetian school and influenced later composers including Andrea Gabrieli.
