Moura Lympany was an English pianist, one of the leading British pianists of the mid-twentieth century. She was especially admired in Rachmaninov, Romantic repertory and Mozart.

In the Pristine catalogue she appears in Rachmaninov’s Preludes and Mozart piano concertos with Herbert Menges and the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Lympany’s playing combined strength, clarity and lyrical authority, with a pianist’s ability to make virtuosity sound fully musical rather than merely athletic.
