Jelly d’Arányi (1893-1966) was a Hungarian-born violinist, great-niece of Joseph Joachim and an important figure in British musical life. She inspired works by composers including Ravel and Vaughan Williams.

In the Pristine catalogue she appears with Myra Hess, Felix Salmond and Gaspar Cassadó in Schubert and Brahms piano trios.

D’Arányi’s playing belonged to a richly personal violin tradition, combining Romantic inheritance with a modern repertory presence. Her chamber work linked distinguished musical lineages across generations.
