Abraham van den Kerckhoven (c.1618-1701), catalogued here as Van Der Kerckhoven, was a Flemish organist and composer. He was active in Brussels and belongs to the seventeenth-century Low Countries keyboard tradition.

His surviving music is chiefly for keyboard, including organ pieces that appear in collections of early Netherlandish masters. It stands in a line after Sweelinck and alongside other northern European organ composers.

Van den Kerckhoven’s style combines contrapuntal craft with idiomatic keyboard writing. His music reflects a church and court world in which organists were both servants of ceremony and skilled improvisers.

He remains a specialist figure, but a valuable one for tracing the organ repertory between Renaissance polyphony and later Baroque forms. His page is small, but properly placed on the map.
