Vitali

Tomaso Antonio Vitali (1663-1745) was an Italian violinist and composer, son of Giovanni Battista Vitali. He worked in Modena and belongs to the Italian Baroque string tradition.

His name is most famous through the Chaconne in G minor, long attributed to him and beloved by violinists, though its authorship and later editorial history are complicated. It appears often in historic violin repertory.
