Pier Miranda Ferraro

Pier Miranda Ferraro was an Italian tenor, active in opera during the post-war period. He was especially associated with dramatic Italian repertory.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Callas’s 1959 stereo recording of Ponchielli’s La Gioconda, with Fiorenza Cossotto, Piero Cappuccilli and Antonino Votto.

Ferraro’s singing brought the bright, forceful tenor presence required by Ponchielli’s theatrical world.
