Ibert
Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) was a French composer whose music is known for elegance, wit and clarity. Born in Paris, he studied at the Conservatoire and won the Prix de Rome after serving in the First World War.
His works include orchestral pieces, operas, ballets, film scores, chamber music and concertos. Escales, the Flute Concerto and the Divertissement are among his best-known scores.
