Ezio Flagello (1931-2009) was an American bass, active at the Metropolitan Opera and in a wide operatic repertory. He became a familiar and valued presence in mid-twentieth-century American opera.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Puccini’s Turandot from the Metropolitan Opera, with Birgit Nilsson, Franco Corelli, Licia Albanese and Kurt Adler.

Flagello’s singing combined firm bass sonority with theatrical reliability, the sort of vocal presence that gives large operatic scenes their lower architectural line.
