Eleanor Aller (1917-1995) was an American cellist, best known as a founding member of the Hollywood String Quartet. She was part of one of the finest American chamber ensembles of the mid-twentieth century.

In the Pristine catalogue she appears with Felix Slatkin and other Los Angeles musicians in repertory by Delius, Saint-Saëns and Ibert.

Aller’s musicianship belonged to the polished West Coast studio and chamber world, where precision, tone and ensemble instinct were daily currency. Her quartet work remains central to her legacy.

Her page is justified by wider stature as well as catalogue presence. Aller gives the string line a Hollywood pedigree of the best kind.
