Darrell Fancourt
Darrell Fancourt (1886-1953) was an English bass-baritone, one of the great D’Oyly Carte Opera Company artists. He became especially associated with Gilbert and Sullivan’s bass-baritone roles.
In the Pristine catalogue he appears in early recordings of The Mikado, H.M.S. Pinafore and The Pirates of Penzance, preserving the Savoy opera tradition close to its older theatrical roots.
