Rosette Anday

Rosette Anday was a Hungarian-born mezzo-soprano and contralto who became one of the leading singers of the Vienna State Opera after making her debut there as Carmen in 1921.

In the Pristine catalogue she is heard as the contralto soloist in Felix Weingartner’s 1935 Vienna Philharmonic recording of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, alongside Luise Helletsgruber, Georg Maikl and Richard Mayr.
