Julian Fuhs (1891-1975) was a German-born bandleader, violinist and arranger, active in jazz and dance-band music during the interwar years.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Gershwin: The First Recordings, a release tracing early and composer-linked documents around Gershwin’s music.

Fuhs’s presence reflects the cosmopolitan dance-band world that helped carry jazz-inflected American music across Europe.

His page is justified by historical context. Fuhs adds a transatlantic cabaret-and-dance-hall thread to the Gershwin shelf.
