Clément Doucet (1895-1950) was a Belgian pianist, composer and entertainer, active in both classical and popular musical worlds. He formed a celebrated piano duo with Jean Wiener.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears with Wiener in Mozart’s Sonata in D major for two pianos, a recording that captures the duo’s classical side.

Doucet’s musical world crossed salon, jazz-inflected entertainment and concert repertory, giving his playing a stylish flexibility. He belonged to a period when the borders between “serious” and “light” music were more porous than later filing cabinets allowed.
