Max Lorenz was a German tenor, one of the major Wagner singers of the twentieth century. He was especially celebrated as a heroic tenor at Bayreuth and other leading opera houses.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Furtwängler’s La Scala and Rome Wagner Ring recordings, alongside Kirsten Flagstad, Martha Mödl, Ludwig Weber and other major artists.

Lorenz’s singing brought heroic force, stamina and old-style Wagnerian authority, with a voice built for the largest dramatic spans.
