Sir Hugh Roberton (1874-1952) was a Scottish conductor, composer and choral director, best known as the founder of the Glasgow Orpheus Choir.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in the Glasgow Orpheus Choir volumes, preserving a distinctive Scottish choral tradition from the 1940s and early 1950s.

Roberton’s importance lies in choral culture: shaping sound, repertory and public identity around a choir whose recordings carried Scottish music far beyond the concert platform.

His page is justified by the dedicated catalogue strand. Roberton gives Pristine’s choral shelf a Glasgow spine and a tartan lining.
