New York City Symphony Orchestra

The New York City Symphony Orchestra was an American orchestra founded by Leopold Stokowski in the 1940s.

It was created as a New York-based symphonic ensemble and was associated with Stokowski’s later American orchestral work.

The orchestra should be distinguished from the New York Philharmonic and other New York orchestral institutions.
