Emil Schipper (1882-1957) was an Austrian baritone, associated with Wagner and German opera in the early twentieth century. He sang in major houses and left important recorded fragments of the period’s style.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Wagner Ring excerpts, including the Potted Ring releases and related early recordings.

Schipper’s singing belonged to the old Wagner baritone tradition: firm, declamatory and text-driven, with an emphasis on role and phrase rather than modern studio polish.

His page is justified by repeated catalogue presence and historical context. Schipper’s voice is one of the darker beams in Pristine’s early Wagner roof.
