Theodore Moses-Tobani (1855-1933), catalogued here as Tobani, was a German-born American composer, arranger and conductor. He worked in the light music and band traditions of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

His best-known piece is Hearts and Flowers, a sentimental melody that became widely known through arrangements, theatre use and early recordings. His music appears in Pristine’s historic violin repertory.

Tobani’s style is direct, tuneful and shaped for immediate appeal. It belongs to the popular salon and light orchestral world where memorable melody mattered most.
