Pedro de Freitas Branco (1896-1963) was a Portuguese conductor, one of the important figures in twentieth-century Portuguese musical life. He was also the brother of composer Luís de Freitas Branco.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears with Marguerite Long in Ravel and related French repertory, placing him beside one of the great French pianists of the period.

His conducting was shaped by European orchestral practice and by a strong engagement with French and Portuguese musical culture. He helped connect Lisbon’s musical life with broader continental currents.

His page is justified by both historical standing and catalogue context. De Freitas Branco gives this corner of Pristine a clear Portuguese podium voice.
