Alfred Jerger
Alfred Jerger (1889-1976) was an Austrian bass-baritone, opera director and administrator. He sang at major German-speaking houses and was closely associated with Vienna’s operatic life.
In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Toscanini’s 1937 Salzburg Die Zauberflöte, a performance of exceptional historical interest. His presence places him among a cast drawn from the central European Mozart tradition.
