Grofé

Ferde Grofe was an American composer, arranger and pianist. He worked in popular concert music, radio and theatre contexts.

His best-known work is Grand Canyon Suite. He was also closely connected with early arrangements of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

His style is colourful, direct and pictorial, often using familiar rhythms and broad orchestral effects.
