Vivian della Chiesa (1915-2009) was an American soprano, active in opera, concert music and radio. She sang with major American companies and became a familiar broadcast artist in the mid-twentieth century.

In the Pristine catalogue she appears in Toscanini’s 1943 performance of Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem with Herbert Janssen, the NBC Symphony Orchestra and Westminster Choir.

Her singing was lyric, clear and poised, suited to the soprano line in Brahms’s large choral architecture. She brought brightness without disturbing the work’s solemn frame.
