André Mangeot (1883-1970) was a French-born violinist and chamber musician who made much of his career in Britain. He was active as a performer, teacher and advocate for chamber music.

Mangeot founded and led the International String Quartet, and his name appears in the Pristine catalogue through recordings with Wilhelm Backhaus and others. He also promoted contemporary music in Britain.

His musicianship belonged to the disciplined chamber tradition, where leadership depends on style, balance and the ability to listen while steering. Such players often shaped musical life more quietly than soloists.
