Brian Sullivan (1917-1969) was an American tenor, active at the Metropolitan Opera and in major American operatic life after the Second World War. He sang a wide repertory, including Wagner, Strauss, Britten and French opera.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Gluck’s Alceste with Kirsten Flagstad, Alberto Erede and the Metropolitan Opera forces.

Sullivan’s voice and style suited the serious lyric and dramatic tenor repertory, where stamina, clarity and theatrical command are all required. His career was substantial despite being less widely remembered than some colleagues.
