Leslie Heward (1897-1943) was an English conductor, one of the most gifted British conductors of his generation. His career was cut short during the Second World War.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Sibelius and Moeran, including his 1942 recording of Moeran’s Symphony in G minor with the Hallé Orchestra.

Heward’s conducting was serious, clear and finely proportioned, with a strong feeling for British and Nordic repertory.
