Glenn Gould (1932-1982) was a Canadian pianist, one of the most original and influential keyboard artists of the twentieth century. His Bach playing became legendary, controversial and permanently unavoidable.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Bach’s Goldberg Variations and related CBC-era Bach performances.

Gould’s playing was analytical, rhythmically alive and fiercely individual, with a capacity to make counterpoint sound newly wired. He turned the recording studio into part of the instrument.
