Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982) was a Polish-born American pianist, one of the most beloved keyboard artists of the twentieth century. His long career joined old-world training to modern recording and concert life.

Rubinstein was especially celebrated in Chopin, Brahms, Schumann, Spanish music and the central concerto repertory. In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Beethoven, Chopin and concerto recordings with major conductors.

His playing combined warmth, rhythmic ease, tonal generosity and a rare sense of naturalness. He could make a phrase sound inevitable without making it sound routine.

Rubinstein’s appeal was never merely pianistic; it was human. His best recordings carry sunlight, elegance and an almost outrageous gift for musical hospitality.
