Arthur Grumiaux

Arthur Grumiaux (1921-1986) was a Belgian violinist, admired for elegance, purity of tone and classical balance. He became one of the great violinists of the post-war period.

Grumiaux was especially associated with Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and French repertory, and his recordings remain highly valued for their poise and refinement. In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Bach with Jean Pougnet and Walter Süsskind.
