Ettore Panizza (1875-1967) was an Italian conductor and composer, active at La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera and the Teatro Colón. He was one of the important operatic conductors of the early twentieth century.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Metropolitan Opera broadcasts of Verdi and Donizetti, including Un ballo in maschera and L’elisir d’amore.

Panizza’s conducting belonged to the practical, singer-conscious Italian theatre tradition. He knew how to pace a stage, support a voice and keep dramatic machinery moving.
