Lore Wissmann
Lore Wissmann (1922-2007) was a German soprano, active in opera and concert repertory. She sang at Bayreuth and in major German-language houses.
In the Pristine catalogue she appears in Knappertsbusch’s 1956 Bayreuth Ring, including Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung.
Wissmann’s singing brought the clear soprano presence and ensemble discipline required by Wagner’s large dramatic architecture.
