Leonid Hambro (1920-2006) was an American pianist, composer and broadcaster, active as soloist, chamber musician and accompanist. He was closely associated with the American piano world of the mid-twentieth century.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears with Felix Salmond in Beethoven cello sonatas and related repertory.

Hambro’s playing, as represented here, belongs to the art of partnership: responsive, firm and alert to the long line of a cello sonata.

His page is justified by secure identity and musical standing. Hambro gives the Salmond recordings a clear American keyboard partner.
