Vladimir Yampolsky was a Russian pianist, best known as a chamber musician and accompanist in Soviet instrumental recordings.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears with Mstislav Rostropovich, Leonid Kogan and Rudolf Barshai in chamber repertory by Beethoven, Handel, Schumann, Sinding and Richard Strauss.

Yampolsky’s playing brought the attentive discipline and musical reflexes required by high-level chamber partnership.

His page is justified by secure identity and catalogue context. Yampolsky gives the Soviet chamber shelf a pianist’s firm and responsive spine.
