Marjorie Lawrence was an Australian dramatic soprano, one of the major Wagner singers of the twentieth century. She sang at the Metropolitan Opera and other leading houses.

In the Pristine catalogue she appears in Leinsdorf’s 1940 Metropolitan Opera Die Walküre with Kirsten Flagstad, Lauritz Melchior and Julius Huehn.

Lawrence’s singing brought heroic amplitude, strength and theatrical courage to Wagner’s dramatic soprano writing.
