Kurt Equiluz (1929-2022) was an Austrian tenor, admired in Bach, Mozart and concert repertory. He became especially associated with Evangelist roles and refined German-language singing.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Richard Strauss’s Elektra with Birgit Nilsson, Grace Hoffman and Georg Solti.

Equiluz’s singing was clear, disciplined and text-sensitive, qualities valuable even in Strauss’s dense dramatic environment.

His page is justified by career standing and catalogue context. Equiluz gives the Strauss shelf a precise Austrian tenor line.
