William Kincaid was an American flautist, long associated with The Philadelphia Orchestra and widely regarded as one of the most influential American flute players of the twentieth century.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in Ormandy’s early Philadelphia recordings, including repertory by Mozart, Telemann, Enescu and others.

Kincaid’s playing helped define an American orchestral flute tradition: clear, focused, elegant and technically assured.

His page is justified by orchestral stature and catalogue context. Kincaid gives the Philadelphia shelf a bright principal-flute signature.
