Dittersdorf
Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf (1739-1799) was an Austrian composer and violinist of the Classical era. Born Carl Ditters in Vienna, he became a prominent performer, Kapellmeister and composer in the musical world of Central Europe.
His output includes symphonies, concertos, chamber music, sacred works and stage pieces. The singspiel Doktor und Apotheker was one of his most successful works, while his symphonies after Ovid’s
