Ernest Lush (1908-1988) was an English pianist and accompanist, active in recital, broadcast and chamber contexts. He worked with many singers and instrumentalists during a long BBC-connected career.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears with Elisabeth Schumann in BBC lecture-recitals of song repertory.

Lush’s musicianship belonged to the art of partnership: tact, timing, harmonic awareness and the ability to support speech, song and musical demonstration in the same breath.

His page is modest but justified. Lush was the kind of pianist who made other musicians sound more themselves.
