This catalogue entry refers to the Swiss tenor Ernst Haefliger (1919-2007), here appearing under the alternate spelling Ernst Häfliger. He was one of the leading Bach and Mozart tenors of the post-war era.

In the Pristine catalogue this duplicate-form page is attached to Furtwängler’s 1954 Beethoven Ninth from Lucerne.

Haefliger’s singing was valued for clarity, refinement and textual intelligence. The fuller artist entry appears under the standard Haefliger spelling used elsewhere in the catalogue.

This page is kept as a duplicate tag marker so the catalogue remains navigable across spelling variants.
