This week’s release returns to our series featuring Willem Mengelberg’s complete recordings with the Concertgebouw Orchestra for the Telefunken label, which was begun last year in celebration of the conductor’s 150th birthday.

As well as three major symphonies by Beethoven and Brahms, Richard Strauss's Don Juan and shorter works by Schubert and Debussy, producer Mark Obert-Thorn has unearthed two previously overlooked 1937 recordings of music by Bach and Vivaldi following a quite unexpected bit of detective work!

STRAVINSKY PROMOTION: From 3pm Paris time, Friday 17 June, and for exactly one week, we mark the 140th birthday of composer IGOR STRAVINSKY with a 20% discount on all our recordings of his music, in download or CD format - the discount is automatic and will be applied at the checkout.
