Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra of New York
The Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra of New York was the formal name used by the New York Philharmonic after its 1928 merger with the New York Symphony Orchestra.
The name was used for the orchestra until the shorter New York Philharmonic form became standard again.
The ensemble is one of the principal orchestras of the United States.
