Bayreuth Festival Orchestra and Chorus
The Bayreuth Festival Orchestra and Chorus are the resident festival forces of the Bayreuth Festival in Bavaria.
The festival was founded by Richard Wagner for the performance of his stage works and opened in 1876.
The orchestra performs in the Festspielhaus’s covered pit, a distinctive acoustic arrangement central to the Bayreuth sound.
