Walton
William Walton (1902-1983) was an English composer whose music combines rhythmic bite, lyrical intensity and brilliant orchestral colour. Born in Oldham, he first came to prominence through the Sitwell circle.
His works include Façade, the Viola Concerto, the First Symphony, Belshazzar’s Feast, the Violin Concerto, film scores and ceremonial music including Crown Imperial.
