Sir Landon Ronald (1873-1938) was an English conductor, pianist and administrator, one of the important British musical figures of the early recording era. He was closely associated with the Royal Albert Hall Orchestra and the recording industry.

In the Pristine catalogue he appears in early electrical and concerto recordings, including Alfred Cortot, Mark Hambourg and the 1925 recording-history anthology.

Ronald’s significance lies in the period when conductors were learning how to shape orchestral performance for the gramophone, balancing concert habits with studio necessity.

His page is essential for the early British recording strand. Ronald stands at the microphone’s dawn with a baton in one hand and practical experience in the other.
