SZIGETI The European Columbia Recordings, Volume 4

This release concludes our 7-CD set of the complete European Columbia recordings of Joseph Szigeti, spanning the years 1926 to 1946. The chronological order of the series brings us to the 20th Century, with important recordings including the Prokofiev First Concerto with Beecham and the London Philharmonic and the Bloch concerto with Munch and the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra.

Elsewhere we have 13 tracks recorded with their composer, Bartók, at the piano, a violin sonata from Ives, and music from a wide range of Szigeti's contemporaries, including Warlock, Debussy, Milhaud, Stravinsky and Ravel. It's all very special indeed!
