This week's Pristine release is the fourth in a series of six bringing you the entire Telefunken catalogue of recordings made by Willem Mengelberg with the Concertgebouw Orchestra.
The highlights here are a fabulous Beethoven "Eroica" Symphony and Franck Symphony in D minor, both from 1940, as well as another signature work, Richard Strauss's "Ein Heldenleben", dedicated both to the conductor and orchestra by the composer.
We also celebrate the 133rd birthday of German conductor Hermann Scherchen, with a discount all week his recordings.
