This week we celebrate the 125th birthday of Jascha Horenstein with two fabulous stereo recordings of Beethoven never previously issued under his name - the 6th 'Pastoral' Symphony and the Consecration of the House Overture.
Recorded in 1957 with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra but only issued in mono, these stereo versions surfaced under a false name on vinyl in the 1970s, something that was only uncovered a few months ago. Given the full Pristine XR treatment they're utterly glorious - plus you'll get Horenstein's fabulous 1953 Coriolan and Egmont overtures as well!
BRAHMS PROMOTION: From Friday 5 May until Friday 12 May, get 20% off all our recordings of music by Brahms as we mark his 190th birthday this week. The automatic discount is applied at the checkout.
